Anna Lobby Cards – 1
I was having so much fun with the Big Dong Lobby Cards, why not do a set of lobby cards for “Anna?”

Occasionally I intercept outdated technology on the way to the dumpster with the help of the IT department at my school. I think they are mostly amused that I’d want it, but I know that I can get some more use out of these depleted robots. One such perfect reuse occurred to me when I […]
DISCLAIMER: This is a continuing series detailing the painful story of a DIY render farm build. It is terribly technical and somewhat frustrating. Those who are unprepared for such “entertainment” are advised to ignore these posts. Lest these posts become a festival of fails, I’d like to provide at least a little counter with a […]
Attendees of my screening in 2009 were treated to an apparently once-in-a-lifetime event: the only screening of my 20 minute short, “Anna.” This is due to the film having originated on 16mm, having been transferred to DV, and screened in standard definition. Who would possibly screen standard def in 2009 much less today? It’s a […]

Here are some more imagined lobby cards that Big Dong might have had if it had been an actual movie. The Garfield Theatre in Alhambra used to show great Hong Kong action films in the 90s. This was yet another theatre I imagined would show the feature version of “Big Dong.” So “BD” is kind […]
I made Big Dong in part because of the wacky theatre lobby cards and posters I’d see while driving by the old Westlake Theatre on Alvarado in Los Angeles. Its been a swap meet for years now, but I remember fondly the kinds of films they’d play there. Here are some imagined lobby cards that Big […]
Maybe fifteen years ago I taught in the graduate filmmaking program at UCLA as a sound instructor. A friend had been teaching there, and he could not take the position for the Fall quarter, so he put in a good word for me. I was at that time an adjunct professor at two other institutions including CSUF, where […]
Nothing like a good old Faculty Meeting to make me start drawing again. This time it was all about finance and how the contracts and procurement system at the University functions.
